It's an unwritten rule that your child WILL have an ear infection that you don't yet know about during their first photo shoot.  Once you know this you can prepare for it, preemtively go to the doctor and have it all cleared up for the rescheduled shoot. :)
This was, of course, the case with five-month-old Natalie.  She was a trooper, though, and her mom and dad *exhausted* themselves trying to amuse her.  The trick that proved successful? Getting naked outside! What else!?

Not ONLY did I get to photograph Kate and Chris' wedding and their engagement shoot, but I get to photograph their growing family!!  AAAND I actually got to grow up with Kate as an added bonus. Mason, their 8 month old son, is so cute I just stared at this poor kid.  I don't think I've even had dolls as cute as he is.  We went to Duxbury on a gorgeous October day.  Everything was adorable and perfect.

Jake is a lucky kid.  He lives on a farm with all of his favorite people:  his mama, his dog, and his horses. Grandma is there, too.  I chased him around, he fed his horses, played in some dirt, and reminded his favorite ladies how much he loves them.  It was as sweet as it gets.

a'ight so this shoot holds more than a small place in my heart. This is because the dad is one of my oldest and best friends.  A guy I have genuinely adored from the moment we met in 7th grade math class and made each other choke/snort/spit in laughter from the word go. Introducing the man everyone who knows absolutely loves: Billy T.   Bill and his beyond awesome, gorgeous, cool as hell, awesome-mom wife, Jen ,and their two Super Sons live in VIrginia.  Which, by the way, is like way too far away from me.  I can only imagine we would be thick as thieves if they lived 'round here.  Aaanyway... they were up visiting Billy's parents and asked me for a shoot in Boston.  Needless to say I was beyond excited.  What I didn't expect (and in retrospect should have absolutely expected) was what an amazing dad Bill is.  He's the perfect blend of fun while being in charge, encouraging and playful, sweet and generous, and silly.  He is to these sons what he is to me: a total and utter star.  Jen, I have to say, is all these things, too.  I just didn't have the total fortune of knowing her since I was 13.
Enjoy the photos. There are more than usual because...well...as previously mentioned... Billy is a good friend of mine and I'm very happy and proud of him.  You can over-feature *your* friends when you have a blog, k? ;)

Lucky, lucky me.  I get to photograph these people's engagement, their wedding, their newborn child, and their family vacation on Martha's Vineyard.  And they thank *me* for it.  heh heh heh.  Life is so sweet.
So, ya...if you follow either of my blogs (dis one or hitchedstudiosblog) you know these people.  They are, at this point, friends of mine.  We would have been friends anyway (they're funny, smart, cool, awesome, fun, kind, loyal) but the way we met was through wedding photography. Details, details.
